London Knights defenseman Nikita Zadorov will not represent Russia at the World Junior Championship.

The hulking six-foot-five, 230-pound blueliner took to his Twitter account to announce he wouldn’t be participating.

“I not going to Ufa #WJC2013 I coming back to London,” he tweeted Wednesday.

Zadorov was originally announced to Russia’s preliminary roster. He has 12 points in 31 games as a rookie for the Knights and is currently 18th in Future Considerations November ranking for the 2013 NHL Draft.

Zadorov isn’t the only Russian draft eligible not making the trip to Ufa. Bogdan Yakimov has also reportedly been cut. The six-foot-five, 200-pound centre has three goals and nine points in 19 games for Penza this season and is currently ranked outside of the first round of the 2013 draft. Yakimov skated in the Subway Super Series and has twice represented Russia at the World Under-18 Championship.
