Morrissey named FC Defenseman of the Month

Future Considerations announced today that Josh Morrissey of the Prince Albert Raiders has been named draft eligible Defenseman of the Month for October.

Morrissey has been one of the most productive point producing defensemen in the 2013 NHL Draft class this season and took his game to another level in October.

In 13 games, Morrissey scored three times and assisted on eight others, running his totals to 11 points in October. Perhaps equally as impressive, the Calgary, AB product was plus-10 in the month.

Morrissey’s continually improved play has him rising in Future Considerations ranking for the 2013 NHL Draft. The six-foot, 185-pound blueliner was 26th in FC’s preliminary ranking for the draft last June and jumped to 15th after a strong September. Morrissey is currently 11th in Future Considerations’ October ranking.

For his efforts, Morrissey is Future Considerations’ draft eligible Defenseman of the Month for October.

Also considered for the award was Darnell Nurse of the Sault Ste. Marie Greyhounds, who scored four goals and added six assists in 12 games.
