Martin joins Whitney in Canada’s U18 crease

Canada’s crease has been rounded out for the World Under-18 Championship, according to the Twitter feed of Mississauga St. Mikes Majors goalie Spencer Martin.

Martin took to the social media outlet to announce his participation in the event later this month in the Czech Republic, joining Victoriaville Tigres netminder Brandon Whitney between the pipes.

“End yr prty couldnt have ended the yr off any btr! the best nite of my life nd im honored to say il b representing Canada at the world U18s!” tweeted Martin.

Martin represented Team Ontario at the World Under-17 Challenge earlier this season.

In 15 games this year, Martin went 2-7-1 with a 3.98 goals against average and .885 save percentage. He is eligible for the 2013 NHL Entry Draft.
