Halifax Mooseheads forward Nathan MacKinnon is expected to miss seven-to-14 days with a lower-body injury suffered Friday against the Moncton Wildcats.

MacKinnon, the second-ranked prospect for the 2013 NHL Draft, finished his shift after appearing to injure his right leg. The 17-year-old finished his shift but didn’t return to the game. The injury isn’t considered by the team to be serious at this point.

In 41 games this season, MacKinnon has 28 goals and 69 points – 12th in scoring in the Quebec Major Junior Hockey League.
