Czech forward Martin Frk will not be eligible to play for the Halifax Mooseheads until January 6th after opting out of participation at the 2012 World Junior Championship.

Due to an agreement between the Canadian Hockey League and the International Ice Hockey Federation, Frk will be forced to miss the next three games. The draft eligible forward chose not to represent the Czech Republic after recently returning from a concussion and feeling unable to perform at the international level.

Frk represented his country a year ago at the 2011 World Juniors and was expected to be a key component in this year’s tournament.

The draft eligible 18-year-old has played just seven games this season, scoring once.
