Connolly injury not serious

Though he left the intra-squad game after hitting the boards in the third period, Hockey Canada doesn’t expect to lose returning forward Brett Connolly.

“It doesn’t look too serious,” coach Don Hay told media after Team White’s 3-2 victory. “We’ll re-evaluate tomorrow.”

Already without Jonathan Huberdeau, who Hockey Canada calls day-to-day, Canada avoided another blow to the team’s forward core. Connolly is just one of four returning players from last year’s silver medal winning team and is on loan from the Tampa Bay Lightning.

Connolly took to internet to update the Twitterverse about his status.

“Everything is okay. Just a little banged up. Not serious at all,” he tweeted.
