Four days ago, the Montreal Canadiens returned prospect Jarred Tinordi to the London Knights of the Ontario Hockey League.

Three days later, the junior club named Millersville, MD. native captain.

It isn’t the first time Tinordi has worn a captaincy on his jersey, serving as captain of the United States Under-18 team.

The 19-year-old Tinordi is in just his second season in the OHL. In 2010-11, the six-foot-seven, 212-pound defenseman had 14 points and 140 penalty minutes in 63 games.

The Knights also named Jared Knight and Scott Harrington as full-time assistant captains. Vladimir Namestnikov, a former first round pick of the Tampa Bay Lightning, and Colin Martin will alternate the third assistant position.

Tinordi marks the fifth Montreal Canadiens prospect in the Canadian Hockey League to wear a letter, including Morgan Ellis (C), Michael Bournival (C), Darren Dietz (A) and Brendan Gallagher (C/A).
