In the dog days of August, any hockey news is interesting news, but when Florida Panthers prospect Rocco Grimaldi fired up Twitter Sunday, many Western Hockey League fans took immediate notice.

“Many different choices, but I’m going with the Dub. The Dub is the best fit for me #TheDub,” tweeted Grimaldi, who is expected to join the North Dakota Fighting Sioux in a few weeks.

The Portland Winterhawks hold Grimaldi’s Major Junior rights.

But Grimaldi isn’t bound for Oregon. Instead, the five-foot-six, 160-pound forward was expressing his choice in automobile manufacturers, according to the Grand Forks Herald’s Brad Elliott Schlossman by way of The Pipeline Show.

Let it be known that Grimaldi is now driving around in a Volkswagen.

It’s the only ‘dub he’ll be seen in.
