The 2011-12 season will not be one to remember for Rocco Grimaldi.

The University of North Dakota and Florida Panthers prospect will undergo surgery on his knee that is expected to keep him out the remainder of the season. Grimaldi has missed the last two months in the hope of being able to rehabilitate the injury without surgery.

The five-foot-six forward originally suffered the injury before the start of the season after taking a puck to the kneecap.

In four games this season, Grimaldi has one goal and one assist.
