Martin Frk is making strides, both literally and figuratively.

That’s the word from Halifax Chronicle-Herald writer Willy Pavlov, who today tweeted that the Czech native has skated symptom-free for the last three days and is ready to step up the intensity of his workouts.

“Marty Frk skated for 3rd straight day with no symptoms,” Pavlov tweeted. “Docs say he is ready to increase his level of exertion…though still long way to go.”

Sidelined by a concussion suffered in the Mooseheads’ second last exhibition game, Frk has yet to suit up alongside Nathan MacKinnon in the Halifax lineup.

It hasn’t stopped the six-foot, 198-pound winger from maintaining his status as a premier player in the 2012 NHL Entry Draft. After a 22 goal, 50 point campaign last season, Frk has maintained his position as a selection in the middle of the first round in each of Future Considerations’ first three rankings for the draft.
