FC names WJC Draft-Eligible All-Star Team

Future Considerations has unveiled it’s draft eligible All-Star Team for the 2013 World Junior Championship.

Slovakia forward Marko Dano, who led the tournament in scoring among draft eligibles, was named one of three forwards to the All-Star Team. Joining him are Canadian Jonathan Drouin and Valeri Nichushkin of Russia.

On defense, late addition Robert Hagg of Sweden and American Seth Jonesform the pair on the blueline while Swiss goalie Melvin Nyffeler gets the nod in net.

Goaltender – Melvin Nyffeler (Switzerland) received three of four votes.
Defenseman – Robert Hagg (Sweden) received three of four votes.
Defenseman – Seth Jones (USA) received three of four votes.
Forward – Jonathan Drouin (Canada) received three of four votes.
Forward – Marko Dano (Slovakia) received three of four votes.
Forward – Valeri Nichushkin (Russia) received three of four votes.

(Voted on by the four FC contributors in attendance in Ufa, Russia.)

Also, receiving votes include F Elias Lindholm (Sweden), F Artturi Lehkonen (Finland), D Rasmus Ristolainen (Finland) and G Marvin Cupper (Germany).

The final standings to close out the 2013 IIHF U20 World Junior Championships saw USA taking home gold with Sweden the silver, Russia the bronze.

Canada finished fourth, Czechs and Swiss fifth and sixth, Finland seventh, followed by Slovakia and Germany with Latvia getting relegated and Norway earning a promotion to next year’s event.
