Seventeen-year-old forwards Adam Erne and Anthony Duclair have been suspended by the Quebec Remparts.

According to a report from Gilles Moffet of the Journal de Quebec, the team has decided to suspend the pair of draft eligibles for one game.

Les vétérans et l’état-major des Remparts de Québec ont jugé que le temps de l’individualisme avait assez duré et c’est la raison pour laquelle, Anthony Duclair et Adam Erne ont été suspendus à l’interne, du moins pour un entraînement et un match.

The suspensions come one day after the Patrick Roy-led Remparts fell to the Nathan MacKinnon, Jonathan Drouin and the Halifax Mooseheads 11-2.

“We believe that we are not all on the same wavelength and what we want is a team concept,” Roy told Moffet, translated from NHL.com.”This is a life lesson for these young people and I hope they will grow out of it. They will not play Sunday, then we’ll see.”

The pair are expected to miss Sunday’s game against Rouyn-Noranda.

“My job is to support (the veterans) and be with them,” Roy said. “I am an employee and I will endorse their decision. At some point, the veterans can talk if (Erne and Duclair) do not listen. It becomes a problem.

“We had already had a meeting, but this time, many things came out and we had to take this decision. It is disappointing to have to live it, but in the end, this may be what will make us a better team. ”

In 44 games this season, Erne has 20 goals and 55 points while Duclair has 15 goals and 35 points in 31 games.
