A big week from Waterloo Black Hawks forward Shane Bowers didn’t go unnoticed by the United States Hockey League.

Bowers, 35th in Future Considerations’ Winter ranking for the 2017 NHL Draft, was named USHL Forward of the Week on Monday after recording three goals, five points and a plus-2 rating in three games last week. Bowers had a goal and an assist on Friday against the Omaha Lancers and Saturday against the Cedar Rapids RoughRiders. He added another goal Sunday against the Sioux City Musketeers.

The 17-year-old has 14 goals and 30 points in 38 games this season, and 63 points (29G, 34A) in 94 career USHL games.
