Tolvanen named USHL forward of the week

Eeli Tolvanen is at it again.

Tolvanen, seventh in Future Considerations’ Winter ranking for the 2017 NHL Draft, was named United States Hockey League Forward of the Week after recording three goals and a plus-3 rating in two games.

The 17-year-old scored the game-winning goal to help the Sioux City Musketeers to a 2-0 win against the Lincoln Stars on Friday. He added two goals in a 5-1 win against the Tri-City Storm on Saturday.

Tolvanen, committed to Boston College next season, has a four-game point streak with six goals and one assist. He has 23 goals and 40 points in 30 games this season.

He was also named USHL Forward of the Week on Oct. 3.

Defenseman Mikey Anderson of the Waterloo Blackhawks, ranked 66th, was named Defenseman of the Week after netting four assists and a plus-2 rating in two games. He has 24 assists and 28 points this season — fifth among USHL defensemen.
