Boedker might be the fastest skater in the entire draft. His first step acceleration, top end speed and stick handling are amazing which coupled with his great playmaking ability makes him a true game breaker. He has outstanding vision and on ice awareness and does not panic when pressured. He controls the play on the half boards in the offensive zone and draws defenders to him which opens up opportunities for teammates. He possesses good puck protection skills and a very good shot with quick release although his strength is that of a playmaker. He will venture into traffic areas but only for quick hit instances. While he does not have a physical element to his game he is defensively responsible and does come back with the play. (May 2008)
