The offensively gifted shifty winger did not put up the numbers expected of him this season. Cornet displayed his good hands, nice on-ice vision and solid hockey sense. He plays a safe and unspectacular game in his own zone but is at his best with the puck on his stick, using his solid puck protection abilities and creating offense in the attacking zone. He is capable of finishing but is primarily a playmaker. Cornet is of average build but plays much smaller than his size would indicate. He needs to add strength and play a more active game in his own zone. Skating is an area that needs improvements. (May 2008)
