FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

CALGARY, AB — Future Considerations today announced Daniel Sprong of the Charlottetown Islanders as the Pacific4 Sports Management draft eligible Forward of the Month for March.

Sprong was strong in closing out his regular season, recording 10 goals and 21 points in nine games, recording at least a point in every skate during the month. He’s also recorded multi-point games in each of his three playoff skates in March, including four goals and two assists, to run his consecutive point-scoring streak to 13, dating back to February.

“Sprong has been absolutely on fire and really becoming the offensive force scouts were looking for,” Future Considerations scouting director Dan Stewart said. “Daniel is an offensively dominant player, when he want to be. He is a powerful skater with slick hands and a rifle of a shot. He has a release that really catches goaltenders by surprise.”

The Amsterdam, Netherlands native finished the regular season, his second in the QMJHL, with 39 goals and 88 points in 68 games.

Sprong is 15th in Future Considerations’ ranking for the 2015 NHL Draft.

Also considered for the award was Timo Meier of the Halifax Mooseheads. Meier had five goals and 12 points in nine games to finish the regular season.
