Gabe Vilardi is in a groove.

Vilardi of the Windsor Spitfires has been named Ontario Hockey League Player of the Week after recording four goals and nine points and a plus-4 rating in three games.

The 17-year-old had three multi-point games, starting with a goal and an assist in a 4-3 overtime win against the Sault Ste Marie Greyhounds. He was named second star in a 4-1 victory against the London Knights after recording two assists.

Vilardi, fifth in Future Considerations’ Winter ranking for the 2017 NHL Draft, netted a career-high five points — including a hat trick — in a 7-1 win against the Sudbury Wolves.

In 43 games this season, Vilardi has 28 goals and 31 assists.
