Tolvanen nets USHL honor

Eeli Tolvanen is starting his NHL Draft eligible season off on the right foot.

The Sioux City Musketeers forward, ranked seventh in Future Considerations’ preliminary ranking in June, had three goals and an assist in two games, and was named the United States Hockey League’s forward of the week Monday.

Tolvanen had two goals on Saturday in a 5-2 win against the Fargo Force, one night after recording a goal and an assist in a 4-2 loss against the Tri-City Storm. The Vihti, FIN native has 12 multi-point games in his two-year career with Sioux City, including three multi-goal games.

Tolvanen, a Boston College commit, had 17 goals and 38 points in 49 games last season, and was named to the USHL All-Rookie First Team last season.
