He’s the youngest player to ever represent Sweden at the World Junior Championship.

But he’s done it for the last time.

Edmonton Oilers general manager Steve Tambellini has told the Edmonton Journal that 19-year-old rookie Magnus Paajarvi will not be joining his home country in Buffalo at the 2011 tournament.

“I keep getting calls from them, asking about Paajarvi but he’s not going,” Tambellini told the paper.

Paajarvi first represented the Tre Kroner at the age of 16 and has played in the tournament three times, earning back-to-back silver medals in 2008 and 2009 and a bronze in 2010.

In 22 games this season, the Norrkoping native has two goals and six points. He is currently mired in a 13 game pointless streak and hasn’t scored in his last 15 contests.
