STROME AMONG ADDS TO CANADA’S U18 ROSTER

Matthew Strome of the Hamilton Bulldogs is among 11 players added to Canada’s pre-tournament roster for the 2017 IIHF U18 World Championship in Poprad and Spisska Nova Ves, Slovakia from April 13-23.

Strome, 27th in Future Considerations’ Spring ranking for the 2017 NHL Draft, had 34 goals and 62 points in 66 games this season.

He’ll be joined by teammate MacKenzie Entwistle (46th), Alexis Gravel, Jared McIsaac and Jocktan Chainey of the Halifax Mooseheads, Jacob McGrath of the Sudbury Wolves, Josh Brook  (77th) and Jett Woo of the Moose Jaw Warriors, Kyle Olson of the Tri-City Americans and Nate Schnarr (88th) and Liam Hawel of the Guelph Storm.

Gravel, Woo, and McIsaac join Ty Dellandrea of the Flint Firebirds, Anderson MacDonald of the Sherbrooke Phoenix, Jack McBain of the Toronto Jr. Canadiens, Ryan Merkley of the Storm, Ty Smith of the Spokane Chiefs and Akil Thomas of the Niagara IceDogs as underaged players attending the pre-tournament camp and games as an opportunity to further develop and gain international experience.
