Future Considerations announced today Hunter Shinkaruk of the Medicine Hat Tigers has been named draft eligible Forward of the Month for March.

Shinkaruk closed out his Western Hockey League regular season with five goals and 13 points in seven games before adding another two goals and two assists in the Tigers’ first round sweep of the Memorial Cup hosting Saskatoon Blades.

The Calgary, AB product finished the season with 37 goals and 86 points in 64 games for Medicine Hat this season.

For his effort, Shinkaruk has been named Future Considerations draft eligible Forward of the Month.

Also considered for the award was Jonathan Drouin of the Halifax Mooseheads, who won the honor in February. Drouin wrapped up his regular season with four goals and 11 points in six games before adding eight assists and 10 points in Halifax’s first round sweep of the Saint John Sea Dogs.
