Eric Comrie will miss the remainder of the regular season due to a hip injury, the Tri City Americans announced Friday.

Comrie, who missed the CHL/NHL Top Prospects Game Wednesday, will undergo minor hip surgery that has been deemed season-ending for the Newport Beach, CA. product.

The 17-year-old has been constantly battling Halifax Mooseheads goalie Zachary Fucale and Spencer Martin of the Mississauga Steelheads as the top tender eligible for the 2013 NHL Draft.

In 37 games this season, Comrie has a 20-14-3 record with a 2.62 goals against average and .915 save percentage.
