CALGARY, AB — Future Considerations Hockey today announced Nick Schneider of the Medicine Hat Tigers as the Double Blue 360 draft eligible Goaltender of the month for September.
In splitting time in the Tigers’ crease, Schneider has shined. The 17-year-old netminder has posted a 2-0-0 record with a 1.50 goals against average and .923 save percentage to start the 2014-15 campaign.
“Nick Schneider is a young goalie with a lot of promise,” Future Considerations’ WHL head scout Zenon Herasymiuk said. “He had a solid month and has shown glimpses of being a high-end prospect going forward.”
After starting 2013-14 with the Regina Pats last season, Schneider posted a 2-2-2 record with a 3.56 goals against average and .870 save percentage. Upon moving to Medicine Hat at the trade deadline in January, the Leduc, AB native went 6-0-0 with a 1.42 goals against and .943 save percentage.
Also considered for the award was Prince Albert Raiders goalie Nick McBride, who recorded a 2-1-0 record with a 2.68 goals against average and .901 save percentage in three starts this season.
