Roster named for All-American Game

USA Hockey announced on Monday the players that will participate in the second annual CCM/USA Hockey All-American Prospects Game.

The event, set for the Consol Energy Center in Pittsburgh on September 26th, features 40 players eligible for the 2014 NHL Draft in Philadelphia.

Among the 24 forwards included is Blake Clarke of the North Bay Battalion, who is Future Considerations’ top-ranked American-born prospect heading into the season. Clarke is fourth in FC’s preliminary ranking, trailing Canadians Sam Reinhart and Aaron Ekblad and William Nylander of Sweden.

Joining Clarke is defenseman Jack Glover (18th) of the United States National Team Development Program U-18 squad, forward Austin Poganski (26th) of the Tri City Storm, and Anthony DeAngelo (29th) of the Sarnia Sting.

Other potential first round picks playing in the game include Shane Gersich (31st), Shane Eiserman (32nd), Sonny Milano (37th), Thatcher Demko (38th) and Ryan MacInnis (42nd).

Chris Wilkie, 49th in Future Considerations’ preliminary ranking, was not included on the roster.

Players were selected to compete in the CCM/USA Hockey All-American Prospects Game by USA Hockey in conjunction with NHL Central Scouting.
