Red Deer Rebels centre Ryan Nugent-Hopkins was named the Jack Link’s Top Prospect of the Year, awarded to the player deemed to be the best draft eligible player in the Canadian Hockey League.
Nugent-Hopkins finished the season with 31 goals and 106 points, the highest total of any CHL draft eligible player.
Nugent-Hopkins beat out Kitchener Rangers captain Gabriel Landeskog and Sean Couturier of the Drummondville Voltigeurs to capture the award.
The 2011 NHL Entry Draft will be held in Minnesota from June 25-26.
