The decision has come down on 2012 NHL Entry Draft eligible defenseman Griffin Reinhart.

The six-foot-four Edmonton Oil Kings defenseman has been handed a five game suspension by the Western Hockey League Sunday after receiving a major penalty for kneeing and a game misconduct at 4:28 of the third period in the team’s win over the Kootenay Ice Wednesday.

Kootenay Ice forward Brendan Hurley left the game on crutches and missed Saturday’s game against the Red Deer Rebels.

Reinhart, a highly regarded defenseman for the 2012 draft class, has two assists in five games.
