A crafty two-way forward who makes an impact wherever he can. He shows great mobility and high-end top speed and it does not take many steps before he gets to top speed. This is also his key to win battles for loose pucks or getting past defenders. Has solid vision and creativity but nothing that will make him a big point producer. His shot is quick and crisp, hitting the mark often. Has a wicked backhander that he can get up into the top shelf very quickly with little time or space. Has no problems driving the puck to the net or just throwing it at the crease, hop- ing for a rebound or deflection. Despite his lack of ideal size, he is solid at protecting the puck with his speed, smarts and body. What Olsson lacks in size, he makes up for in determination and hard work. The kid is aggressive on the forecheck and uses his excellent speed and agility to be an effective all-round player. He is active on the penalty kill and is always on the move, applying tremendous pressure and cutting out lanes using his agility to move freely. Makes some great passes on the rush at top speed while still hitting his mark. Most impressive is his hard backhand pass across the width of the ice on the rush that leads the man right onto the tape. Is a workhorse in the defensive zone thanks to good positioning and the character to be a team player. He is strong on his feet and uses his muscle and balance in the face-off circle to some success. Undersized, very fast, highly skilled and extremely dynamic. (May 2015)
