A huge, lanky forward who is a beast on the forecheck and who gets on the puck carrier and doesn’t give him any space to make a play. Bondra skates well and generates tremendous pow- er with each stride. Moves very well laterally and displays strong overall mobility for someone of his size. Highly impressive to see this big-bodied forward kick it into high gear to catch a smaller offensive player. Still raw in some areas but he possesses solid hockey sense and good skill that will go a long way. Not the most creative hands around, but he protects the puck very well with his size and reach. Doesn’t make any jaw-dropping dekes, but is effective with the puck in possession. Controls it well moving up ice with strong movements and keeping the puck close to him when challenged. Aware defensively and has good coverage on the penalty kill. Moves to help cover large areas and pick up missed assignments; strong in pursuit of the puck carrier, using his reach to grab the puck and clear it on the PK. Not the heaviest of wrist shots, but it is accurate and he can get it on net effectively. Finds the puck around the net and is dangerous with his hands and range. (May 2015)
