A big, tough defenseman who can absolutely demolishes his opponents with a well timed check…clears the net front and punishes perpetrators…finds pucks quickly in his own end and negates pressure by skating to open ice or moving pucks to safe zones…a competent puck distributor from the point…shows off a hard slap shot…heads up ability to create offense…is a difficult player to beat out of the corners and around the net…doesn’t have great skating ability as he can be beat by faster forwards to the outside, but he is serviceable and recovers fairly well…is good defensively, strong and smart reading the developing play well…makes good decisions with the puck and moves it out of trouble by dumping it off the glass or gets it moving up ice with his simple outlet passes…with his size, strength and physicality he projects as a potential #4-5 defensive defenseman in the NHL.  (November 2016)
