The solid two-way threat has impressed many this season with his safe and poised game. He possesses a wide powerful stride, has good first step acceleration and has great balance with excellent pivots. Goloubef is a defense first but is also capable of playing on the offensive side of the puck. He has a great point shot that is both hard and accurate. He sees the ice well, can make a great first pass as well as the ability to rush the puck up ice when the opportunity presents itself. He is a mistake free defender with solid positioning and great instincts. His offensive potential is just starting to come to the surface. (May 2008)
