A real competitor and leader both on and off the ice. Very mature and hard work- ing player who will play in the NHL based on those traits alone. Smart in his own zone and willing to block shots and take a hit to clear the puck from danger. Battles hard in puck battles and wins the majority of them, forechecks hard and finishes his checks. Skates hard, driving the puck to the net and has nice balance on his skates. Fights through checks and can carry the puck with his decent hands. Not afraid to drop the mitts if needed and is not the most fun to play against. Has a very high compete level and does whatever is needed to win. Not go- ing to wow you but effective in most facets of the game. Will wear a letter on his jersey in the NHL as his teammates respect and listen to him. Is a sub-par skater with a skating stride that neither generates speed nor quick- ness off the mark. The team that draft him will need to invest in some power skating training. (May 2011)
