Boychuk’s conditioning and athleticism are some of the best in junior hockey. Boychuk is a skilled forward with great vision and hockey sense. He skates well with great speed and has explosive acceleration. He has good hands and a great shot and can also set-up a play with his pinpoint passing. Will play in the dirty areas on the ice and despite being smaller in size is not afraid of physical play or battles along the wall. He is very reliable defensively and always takes care of his defensive responsibilities. Boychuk has a dynamic offensive element to his game that not many two-way forwards can attest to having.
