Big and athletic two-way forward. Skates well with good straight line speed but lacks first step quickness and ability to make quick directional changes. Balanced and strong on his skates, able to protect the puck. A playmaker who sees the ice and reads the developing play well, able to dish the puck either using a soft touch or a hard, crisp pass. Can also shoot the puck with a nice release and accuracy but lacks the high end goal scorers instincts. Is opportunistic and can be dangerous around the net. Defensive awareness is good as is his desire to compete and win. His main strengths are his work ethic and determination to get better. Needs to add more strength and continue to work on his first few steps. (May 2011)
