Ostapchuk is the Russian version of ex-NHL player Pat Verbeek’s moniker “little ball of hate”. He is all energy and can really skate showing great first step acceleration with nice shifty mobility. He is a big time fore-checker who hit everything in his path. He possesses a big time shot that is hard and accurate. Ostapchuk has a lack of offensive upside. (May 2008)
