A skilled player who competes… can grind with the best of them, be creative on the fly, and play a chippy game…a strong skater with great speed and good footwork…quick laterally, picks up speed and power quickly…is strong on the puck protecting it well with his size and strength…good stick-skills and creativity as well and is able stickhandle past defenseman…shows impressive skill in tight areas…has a high hockey IQ and great awareness with the puck…solid playmaking skills with the ability to create plays from nothing…gritty and willing to grind himself to the net front for scoring opportunities…always seems to end up around the net… works hard on the forecheck, takes good angles to pucks and gets in aggressively to win puck battles and cause turnovers…races back hard on the backcheck and does a good job using his stick to strip pucks…a guy with top six upside but at worse a safe bet as a bottom six contributor.  (November 2016)
