A defenseman who does the simple things well and can elevate his game to the situation…not the biggest defenseman but plays a tough brand of hockey…likes to throw the body, not afraid to step-up and make a hit…strong skater with good foot-work, powerful strides…explosive first steps and has the ability to skate out of pressure with the puck…decision-making can improve, he loses himself chasing the puck carrier at times on defense…good defensive stick, forces forwards off their angle to the net….good stickhandler, with the skill to dodge opposing players and carry the puck end-to-end when he sees an opening…footwork that allows him to keep a consistent gap…good shot from the point with either a quick wrister that finds the net or a slap shot that he can hammer off a pass…extremely patient with the puck on his stick, looking to find the proper path to take the play up ice…good playmaking defenseman and puck-rusher…has some upside as an offensive defenseman at the pro level in a bottom four role.
