Nolan Patrick and Nico Hischier will go head-to-head at the 2017 CHL/NHL Top Prospects Game.

The two NHL Draft eligibles have been named captains for the showcase.

Patrick will lead Team Cherry alongside alternate captains Maxime Comtois of the Victoriaville Tigres, and Owen Tippett of the Mississauga Steelheads. Hischier will front Team Orr with alternates Nicolas Hague of the Steelheads, and Michael Rasmussen of the Tri-City Americans.

Patrick is first in Future Considerations’ Winter ranking for the 2017 NHL Draft. He has six goals and 13 points in just eight games this season.

“I’m excited about the event, to be named as a team captain is an honour,” Patrick said in a release. “I’m just looking forward to getting to Quebec City and playing with some great players, it should be an entertaining game with that much talent on the ice together.”

Hischier, ranked fourth, leads all QMJHL rookies in scoring and is sixth overall with 30 goals and 60 points in 36 games this season. He had four goals and seven points while representing Switzerland at the 2017 IIHF World Junior Championship.

“It feels really good (to be named captain) because it’s an honour for me and I’m really excited about it,” Hischier said. “It’s a good experience and a chance to meet new friends so it should be fun.”

The 2017 CHL/NHL Top Prospects Game will be hosted by the QMJHL’s Quebec Remparts on Jan. 30.
