Press Release2015 Draft Center

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

CALGARY, AB – Future Considerations Hockey today announced Timo Meier of the Halifax Mooseheads as the Pacific4 Sports Management draft eligible Forward of the month for January.

Meier was an impressive spark for the Mooseheads in January, recording seven goals and 16 points in just nine games. The 18-year-old native of Herisau, Switzerland added one goal and two assists in helping Team Orr to a 6-0 win over Team Cherry at the 2015 CHL/NHL Top Prospects Game.

“Meier has really taken his game to the next level this season,” Future Considerations scouting director Dan Stewart said. “He displays a nice shot, ability to make skilled plays with the puck, strong boards play and a willingness to engage in the dirty areas on the ice.

“At the World Juniors and even before that with his play starting in November really has been impressive as he has continued his strong game both creating offensive chances and playing more of a consistent power game than he showed us last season or even at the beginning of this season.”

Meier has 28 goals and 63 points in 43 games for the Mooseheads this season.

He’s moved into the first round and is currently 30th in Future Considerations’ midterm ranking for the 2015 NHL Draft.

Also considered for the award was Giorgio Estephan of the Lethbridge Hurricanes. Estephan had eight goals and 19 points in 11 games for the Hurricanes in January.

Pacific4 Sports Management is a boutique hockey firm focused on the management and representation of elite hockey players.
