McCoshen named Defenseman of the Month

Future Considerations announced today Ian McCoshen of the Waterloo Black Hawks of the United States Hockey League has been named Hockey Soda Energy draft eligible Defenseman of the Month for January.

McCoshen , 17, had two goals and 10 points in 10 games for the Blackhawks in the month of January. The six-foot-three, 207-pound defenseman is currently 58th in Future Considerations’ ranking for the 2013 NHL Draft.

In 29 games this season, McCoshen has six goals and 24 points and has a plus-23 rating.

Also considered for the award was Darnell Nurse of the Sault. Ste Marie Greyhounds of the Ontario Hockey League.

Nurse scored four goals and added two assists for 6 points in 11 games in January and is currently 7th in Future Considerations’ 2013 NHL Draft Ranking. In 41 OHL games this season, Nurse has 10 goals and 30 points and has a plus-14 rating.
