Cale Makar has capped an impressive season with another award.

Makar was named most valuable player of the Alberta Junior Hockey League playoffs after recording five goals and 16 points in 13 playoff games to help the Brooks Bandits to a second-consecutive league title.

The 18-year-old, fifth in Future Considerations’ Spring ranking for the 2017 NHL Draft, was named the AJHL’s regular-season MVP and most outstanding defenseman in February after recording 74 points and finishing first amongst blueliners in points (74), goals (24) and assists (51). Twenty-four of his goals came at even strength.

Makar also had four goals and eight points in four games while captaining Canada West at the World Junior A Challenge in December.
