Nolan Patrick, Future Considerations’ top-ranked prospect for the 2017 NHL Draft, will miss Game 1 of the Brandon Wheat Kings’ Eastern Conference quarterfinal series against the Medicine Hat Tigers on Friday.
Patrick is day-to-day with a lower-body injury, according to NHL.com.
The 18-year-old, first in Future Considerations’ Winter ranking for the 2017 NHL Draft, tied for the Western Hockey League playoff scoring lead last spring with 30 points (13 goals, 17 assists) in 21 games. He was named postseason MVP and helped Brandon win the Ed Chynoweth Cup as WHL champions.
Patrick missed 35 games earlier this season because of an upper-body injury. The injuries are unrelated.
