Lotz named FC Goaltender of the Month

Future Considerations announced today Austin Lotz of the Everett Silvertips of the Western Hockey League has been named draft eligible Goaltender of the Month for January.

Lotz was 5-3-1-0 in 10 appearances for the Silvertips in January and posted a 3.49 goals against average and .916 save percentage. The St. Adolphe, MB. product faced 380 shots in 10 outings, including 35-plus pucks seven times. The 17-year-old’s highlight of the month came in a 65-save overtime loss against the Kamloops Blazers January 23rd.

Lotz has played 31 games this year, posting a 12-15-1-1 record with a 3.40 goals against average and .906 save percentage. He is currently ranked 15th for the 2013 NHL Draft among goaltenders by Future Considerations.

Also considered for the award was Tristan Jarry of the Edmonton Oil Kings of the WHL. Jarry was 4-1 in five starts with a 0.80 goals against average and a .966 save percentage playing behind Calgary Flames prospect Laurent Brossoit.
