Kaliyev named CHL player of the week

Arthur Kaliyev is on a heater.

The 17-year-old Hamilton Bulldogs forward was named Canadian Hockey League player of the week ending Jan. 6 after notching 11 points (seven goals, four assists) and a plus-2 rating in four games.

Kaliyev helped the Bulldogs earn seven of eight points with his four multi-point games.

Kaliyev, who was drafted in the second round (No. 26) of the 2017 OHL Priority Selection, ranked fourth in OHL scoring with 63 points (31 goals, 32 assists) in 40 games and is 25th in Future Considerations’ Fall ranking for the 2019 NHL Draft.
