17-year-old defenseman Seth Jones has been knocked out of the 2012 World Junior Championship, the victim of a hit during Team USA’s exhibition match against Russia.
Jones sustained an upper-body injury in the 6-3 loss against Russia and will not be able to participate in the 2012 IIHF World Junior Championship. He was seen wearing a sling after the game. Jones is eligible for the 2013 NHL Entry Draft and has four assists and five points in USHL action with the US National Team Development Program.
Team USA is expected to announce their 22-man roster for the tournament Thursday.
