Jones named FC Defenseman of the Month

Future Considerations announced today Seth Jones of the Portland Winterhawks has been named draft eligible Defenseman of the Month for March.

Jones closed out his 2012-13 regular season campaign with four goals and eight points in six games before adding three assists in Portland’s first round win over the Everett Silvertips in the Western Hockey League playoffs.

The top-ranked player for the 2013 NHL Draft, Jones finished the season with 14 goals and 56 points in 61 games – fourth in the WHL amongst blue liners.

For his effort, Jones has been named Future Considerations draft eligible Defenseman of the Month.

Also considered for the award was Darnell Nurse of the Sault Ste. Marie Greyhounds. Nurse had five points in eight games in March before adding a goal and three assists in six games against the Owen Sound Attack in first round OHL playoff action.
