Hague, Vilardi named to Team OHL

Defenseman Nicolas Hague and forward Gabe Vilardi, eligible for the 2017 NHL Draft, will represent Team OHL at the 2016 CIBC Canada Russia Series.

Vilardi, third in Future Considerations’ preliminary ranking for the 2017 NHL Draft, has five goals and 11 points in seven games with the Winsor Spitfires. He had 17 goals and 38 points in 62 games as a rookie with the Spitfires in 2015-16.

Hague, ranked 12th, has seven goals and 12 points in 11 games with the Mississauga Steelheads. He had 14 goals and 24 points in 66 games as a 16-year-old last year.

Team OHL will compete against Team Russia in Game 3 of the series in North Bay on Nov. 10, with Game 4 in Hamilton on Nov. 14. The series also includes two games in the Western Hockey League prior to both OHL games, and ends with two games against the Quebec Major Junior Hockey League.
