Free agent Milan signs with Lightning

Tampa Bay Lightning announced the signing of Moncton Wildcats defenseman Daniel Milan to a three-year, two-way contract Friday.

The six-foot-three, 194-pound blueliner had 14 goals and 38 points last season. Hew as the Wildcats top scoring defenseman and also led the QMJHL in points among rookie defenseman.

The 19-year-old was named Moncton`s Rookie of The Year while breaking the club’s scoring record for first-year defenseman.

The Detroit, MI. native enjoyed a great career in his home state before joining the Wildcats. Milan also served as captain at Orchard Lake St. Mary`s Prep in his senior year, scoring five goals and 18 points while playing in 31 and earned High School All-State Conference recognition, as well as Catholic All-State recognition.
