The 38 players joining captains Nathan MacKinnon and Seth Jones at the 2013 CHL/NHL Top Prospects Game have been announced.
Six of the top ten players – including MacKinnon and Jones – and 19 total players currently featured in Future Considerations’ November ranking for the 2013 NHL Draft will be in attendance at the Top Prospects Game, taking place at the Halifax Metro Centre on January 16, 2013.
Highlighting MacKinnon’s Team Cherry is currently Halifax Mooseheads teammates Jonathan Drouin and Zachary Fucale, and will boast incredible defensiev depth in Josh Morrissey, Darnell Nurse and Ryan Pulock.
Team Orr, led by Jones, will feature offensive standouts Hunter Shinkaruk and Sean Monahan, whom are both currently participating in Canada’s selection camp for the World Junior Championship with Drouin and MacKinnon. Curtis Lazar, Nicolas Petan and Max Domi are also featured on the roster.
Players were chosen by all 30 NHL clubs then divided into teams by NHL Central Scouting and include 14 players from the Western Hockey League, 14 players from the Ontario Hockey League, and 12 players from the Quebec Major Junior Hockey League.
