Halifax Mooseheads forward Jonathan Drouin isn’t about to be overshadowed by a strong QMJHL draft class.

The 17-year-old was named the QMJHL’s TELUS first star of the week after scoring two goals and seven points with a plus-6 rating in two games for Halifax to start the season.

Drouin is currently slotted 19th in Future Considerations’ September ranking for the 2013 NHL Draft. Mooseheads teammates Nathan MacKinnon (1st) and Zachary Fucale (20th) are also ranked in the first round.
